Getting Homework Done... Faster

We've all had that feeling of wanting, no, NEEDING to finish homework in order for us to go do something and have a little free time. Getting homework out of our way is always something nice for the average student.

Challenge Yourself
Find little slots of time do your homework. Whether its on the bus or at practice, or maybe even at school. "Challenge yourself to find small sections of time for homework before you get home… on the bus, before basketball practice, or even during school. (There is a lot of down-time in classes, such as when teachers take attendance.) The less homework you have by the time you get home, the more motivated you will be to finish the rest quickly." (Kruger 25-30)
Rewarding Yourself
Challenge yourself again to finish all of your homework before a certain time so you can go out with friends, or play on your Xbox. "Challenge yourself to do all of your homework before a specific time so you can watch your favorite TV show, play video games, talk on the phone, IM your friends, etc." (Kruger 45)
Timing Yourself
Having a timer to time the amount of hours, or minutes spent on an assignment is great for helping to stay on task. You can trying setting the timer for 5-10 minutes and try to finish it in that time.

  1. Nice post Ralph! I feel like it's very relatable for everyone because we all have homework. I know that for me, its sometimes hard to get all my homework done and get a good nights sleep. Whenever I have down time in my classes, I'm almost always working on another assignment in order to get things down efficiently. In regards to your question, in order to get my homework done fast I usually put my phone in a different room so that I don't get distracted. I also set small goals for myself, like once I finish 10 pages of reading I can go check my phone or get a snack. Again, very nice post!
