Getting Rid of Old Papers According to the KonMari Method

I have been cleaning out and decluttering clothes and books. Now, it was time to get rid of papers. I have a old shoebox filled with papers from previous schools years, certificates, etc. Many of these papers I hadn't look at in years, so it was high time look through them and get rid of the ones I don't need.
I started out by getting the shoebox out and getting all of the papers out of it. There was a pretty large stack. And then I started to o through following Kondo's advice, "...dispose of anything that does not fall into one of these three categories: currently in use, needed for a limited period of time, or must be kept indefinitely" (Kondo 97). So I went through the papers one at a time and put them into piles.
Most of the papers in this box were older papers, so there were no papers that were currently in use. Then, I had papers that were some of my better pieces of work and I wanted to save, so they fell into the keep for a limited period of time pile. Then I had a lot of certificates that I had received over the years, and all of these fell into the must be kept indefinitely pile. (Kondo 97)

The rest of the papers were thrown into the recycle, because I didn't need them and there was no point in keeping them. That would just be adding to the clutter in my room, and the mission is to declutter my house.

Overall, this book was so helpful in decluttering my house. There were so many helpful tips that were really useful. It was surprising when Kondo knew the littlest things that would come up when cleaning. Also, her process of going through your things is very effective, and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to clear out the clutter from their home.

Would you use the KonMari method to declutter your room/home?
