Ever wanted to pitch high 90's and strike out guys just like Felix Hernandez? Well with help of this book, I was not able to throw in the upper 90's in MPH but I was able to strike put my opponents.
Ray Halladay was a player who was just a thrower and not a pitcher, when he got in the big leagues in 1990. In 2001 he vowed to make a change in his mechanics. "Halladay is proof that a change in mechanics can make all the difference for a pitcher." (Illustrator 22) In the pictures it only showed 3 steps on how to pitch but to further expand on my book I took more pictures in between to see if I was doing it right.
First I got the sign from the catcher. Getting the sign means making sure that the catcher and pitcher are on the same page as to what pitch he will be throwing.
Then I came set. Coming set is to come to a complete stop. It is important because if you don't stop, it is considered a balk, and you give the runner on base a free pass to the next.
Starting my motion out of the stretch, I found a very effective balance point that also builds power and gives me momentum into my pitch
Using every ounce of the momentum I exploded off of the mound to come into a strong throwing slot
After releasing the ball low we finish by letting our fingers roll off of the ball to let the ball spin more and gain more movement on the ball to fool the hitter
How hard do you think you could throw a baseball?
