Smoothies are a great source off nutrition and are easy to make. Cutting some fruits and tossing them into a blender isn't much of a challenge either. This smoothie took me about ten minutes to make. As for the health benefits of smoothies, they are actually quite simple. Making a smoothie is again just tossing things into a blender, and when you do that your getting all the health factors of a raw fruit, vegetable or what ever you are using in your smoothie. "A smoothie is like a healthy milkshake full of protein, nutrients and good 'bacteria'" (Fulcher 431).
In the book, Be Good to Your Body--Healthy Eating and Fun Recipes by Roz Fulcher. The book id meant for young children, who could have fun making foods and trying new things. But since the author gives the reader quick, easy and healthy recipes, I decided that this would be very beneficial to not only younger children but to teenagers to. Also since I'm trying to be healthy I would really felt like this would be a very helpful topic to talk about.
There are many great recipes in this book, but the author also adds some very interesting information and fun facts about the food that are going into what you are eating:
A tip that was given by the author was that if you peel a banana and freeze it, then put it in your smoothie, it will become thinker (Fulcher 431).
"Add a teaspoon of honey for a sweeter smoothie" (Fulcher 431).

Question: Have you ever made something yourself (your own recipe) and really like the end result? If yes, what was it, how much time did it take and was it healthy?
