From when I was born to about age 12 , I never even thought of keeping my body fit and gaining or maintaining muscle but then I realized that I would get fat if I chose otherwise and that's my worst nightmare. " Not only does it ( working out) make you feel strong and improve your health , but it also makes you look slimmer and more toned and athletic ( Macnab 9)". There are multiple things you can do to stay fit and gain/maintain muscle . For example , jogging , push-ups, curl ups, sit ups or lifting actual weights. However, if you are aspiring to get a good body build , you shouldn't just concentrate on appearance because if you push your body to quick , then your body wont allow it and that is where injuries happen or start to occur." Concentrating only on appearance may make you push your training forward faster than your body allows . That is when injuries happen. Instead , concentrate on weight trainings clear health benefits ( Macnab 9)". Finally , if you try to work out and get more fit without eating right , you are wasting your time because you can work out your muscles and run for a long time but then go to McDonalds or as displayed to the right , eat a candy bar. I know its painful to not go to fast food KILLERS sometimes but there is a famous and frequently used quote that states "No pain , No gain" . The PAIN is not eating all that you want but the Gain is you will be more fit in the end . Question: Do you plan on losing weight and/or staying fit and how will you achieve that goal ?
Actually I plan on gaining weight, mainly because I need to gain weight o I don't get thrown around in hockey. But I still want to stay fit so I can keep up with the high level that I am playing at. I plan on achieving this goal by lifting weights and gaining muscle mass instead of fat because muscle is more dense than fat. Gaining muscle will help make me more fit and stay in shape, but I will still be gaining weight. I may not know much about having a good diet for lifting but I know that having the proper amount of calories is necessary so I often actually eat McDonalds before or after a workout because burning those calories is better than burning the muscle that I am trying to gain. Maybe I got something wrong here and if I do I'd be pleased to know through another blog post maybe?
