Goalkeeping complete Guide

while i was reading my book i found a really interesting article about how to scoop low balls of the ground fast, medium, or soft power! in the book it states how instead of just bending your back and dropping a knee you scoop it as if you were going to land on your stomach. Tony Diccio states "Often times a younger inexperienced goalkeeper is taught to drop on his or her knee to collect a low ball shot directly at them, this how ever is the improper technique....... Once you are on one knee you are stuck, so say the ball rickshaws off you, you have no way of saving the ball for a secound time". in this quote Tony thoroughly explains why not going on your knees is so important and how it can only do good in the end!

So what i have done to try and learn this technique was start off slow, and worked in the basic side movements, and the proper foot work to in order for myself to get in front of the ball in time. Then i went on and started to practice the actually bending down and scooping motion, i found that my quads where very weak doing this movement so i had to gain strength in order for myself to fully execute this move. I then started practicing it with real shots and now i am able to preform the skill in a game!

This took quite a lot of work because my other form of diving was a very bad habit i had to break out Of but now i can preform this diving skill with ease!

My questions is what bad habit have you broken before n your life?
